September 2010

From Dan's Garage

Here it is September already. Hope everyone has recovered from the August Fun Run 2010. August certainly was a busy month for our club with the Fun Run Event and Boat Show.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you who participated and helped with the Fun Run. If it was not for all of us working together, we could not have accomplished such a successful event. I can not count the number of times I was thanked for our Car Club providing such a great Car Show and how grateful the participants and visitors were for being able to attend. For twenty one years this organization has proven time and time again that we can organize and host the largest event in the Big Bear Valley! There are so many members who are responsible for the success of the Antique Car Club and I commend your hard work and dedication not only to the club but also to and for our community. I feel it is a privilege to be a part of this great organization.

Our Engine Raffle was a big success. We even sold out all of our tickets and had to have more printed for Saturday and Sunday. The around the lake cruise was fun with our winners from the Pinewood Derby leading the way around the lake. We also heard nothing but positive praise for the food that was provided by the Kiwanis. As usual, we still found some problems/issues with the show but overall, we will solve them to make it even better next year!

We had approximately ten members show up for the Wooden Boat Show at B’s Barbeque on the Lake. Everyone, just kicked it, relaxed and enjoyed themselves.

Don’t forget the next social event at PAPA JACK'S on September 11th at 12:00 – till when ever.

We will be having Bob Peters as our next guest speaker at our September 13th General Meeting. Bob will be giving a program about the history of the Automobile Club AAA (No sales Pitch) This should be an interesting and informative program.

The Millers will be hosting the Halloween Party on Saturday, October 30th at the home with a Pumpkin Carving Contest and Costume Contest! Mark your calendars.

Hope everyone has a safe and fun Labor Day weekend.

Don’t forget “Check that Dipstick”

Dan
